Pennsylvania Council of Churches
As part of its mission statement to
"share this Good News with our neighbors in word and in deed,"
the Pennsylvania Council of Churches reaches out to our neighbors who are
residents of state facilities such as mental hospitals, mental retardation
centers, youth correctional facilities and veterans' homes. People
and patients who live in these facilities often do not have easy access to
a home church or pastor. Working through contracts with the state of
Pennsylvania, the Council of Churches contracts with chaplains to work
in these facilities. Our chaplains serve in the following facilities:
