Council-wide Study Resource

During 2004 and 2005, all the program and administrative units of the Pennsylvania Council of Churches were involved in study and discussion of a document prepared by the World Council of Churches. Titled "Toward a Common Understanding and Vision," the document seeks to address key issues that emerge as the WCC looked at its own life and witness. As we in Pennsylvania examined that text, we learned from the World Council's experience and gained insight into our own life and witness.

In addition, our study examined some scripture passages that are at the root of our ecumenical vision. Members of committees, action teams, the Steering Committee, and the Governing Board were asked to bring a copy of the study resource, together with a bible (translation of one's own choosing) to each meeting.  Click here for a copy of the study and discussion resource.
