Trucker and Traveler Ministry in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Attend the 2008 Fall Truck Stop Banquet, October 4 at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Road, York, PA. There will be delicious food, a silent auction, and great entertainment. Contact Chaplain Dan for further information.

What's New...Donation of a 45' trailer that will be refurbished into an office chapel and placed at one of the local truck stops. With the help of faithful supporters, ministry staff hours were increased to forty hours per week as of January 1, 2006.

Recent Happenings...A driver approached Chaplain Dan Lehigh after seeing his hat and said, "I had been thinking about all of my problems and the need to find a truck stop chaplain, and I looked up and there you were." Ministry was provided to a local truck stop employee's family whose best friend had died, and two stranded teens were assisted.

     24 - visits to hospitals

    145 - visits with travelers

    322 - visits with truckers

    602 - visits with travelers

    930 - brochures/tracts/cards were distributed

      45- books/Bibles were distributed

    100 - received food/gas/housing or personal care

      25 - churches/groups were presented with the

             ministry

      41 - meetings attended by chaplain

  9,522 - bags of cookies distributed with 94 

             churches/groups participating
