The purpose of the Council’s updates is to help carry out
two important educational outcomes: (1)
helping constituents to learn and understand more about issues of importance to
the Council and the religious community; and (2) keeping constituents informed
about what is happening in the legislative and policymaking arenas. It is said that information is power. Without supporting information, our advocacy efforts lack authority.
The Council uses two mechanisms in achieving its purpose: (1) The Ecu-Advocate (the Council’s advocacy newsletter)
contains in-depth information about priority issues before the Council and
updates on issues as they happen; and (2) updates by topic are designed to keep
constituents informed about the status of specific issues on an ongoing basis.
